• Payment information when you subscribe to Alfie Pro (processed by Stripe)

Audio Data

• Audio recordings you upload to our service
• Transcriptions generated from your recordings

• Statistics such as session duration and frequency of use
• Technical data: IP address, browser type, device/OS info
• Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see below)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information only for the following purposes:

• To provide, operate, and improve our transcription services
• To process audio recordings and deliver transcriptions
• To manage your account and subscription
• To send essential service updates and support communications
• To monitor usage for security and abuse prevention
• To improve the accuracy and quality of our transcription models

We rely on your consent (for processing audio and transcripts) and/or performance of a contract (to provide the service you sign up for) as our legal basis under GDPR.

3. Data Security & Storage

• All data is encrypted in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest
• Audio and transcript processing occurs in the region you select (US, EU, or Asia)
• Access to your data is limited to authorized personnel only
• We perform regular audits and monitoring to maintain security

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We only share it in these limited circumstances:

• Service Providers: Third-party services that help us operate (e.g., Stripe for payments, AWS for file storage, Supabase for database and authentication, Sentry for error tracking, Modal for ML processing). These providers only receive the minimum data necessary and are contractually required to protect it.
• Legal Requirements: When necessary to comply with applicable laws or protect our rights
• Business Transfers: In case of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction: Update or correct your information
• Deletion ("Right to be Forgotten"): Request deletion of your account and data
• Export/Data Portability: Download your transcripts and profile data

6. Data Retention

• Audio recordings are deleted within 10 minutes after upload, regardless of transcription status
• Audio transcripts are automatically deleted within 24 to 25 hours after creation
• You can request delete recordings and transcripts at any time

7. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for international transfers.

8. Children's Privacy

Alfie is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.

9. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes via email or through our service.
